West MacDonnell Ranges Outback Gaps & Gorges

Surrounded by a red sand desert which stretches for hundreds of kilometres in all directions, Alice Springs is one of Australia’s most famous outback towns.

Product Description

As we drive towards the beautiful West MacDonnell Ranges we pass by the amazing outback scenery, while your Coach Captain will talks to you about significant landmarks as we drive past and will share details of the region’s history and rich culture.

Our first stop for the day is at the incredible Simpsons Gap, which is surrounded by towering cliffs, and is one of the best known destinations in the ranges. We walk through Simpsons Gap to the waterhole, keeping an eye out for the elusive black-footed rock wallabies hiding among the rocks.
We arrive at Angkerle by late morning, and again you can take a walk along the stony watercourse and take in the rich plant and birdlife along the way.

You’ll have some free time here to relax and enjoy a light lunch prepared by the local indigenous caterers, before we depart from Angkerle and return back to Alice Springs.
